Last month, UTHSC joined institutions across the country celebrating National Postdoc Appreciation Week (9/20-9/24, 2021). The week was a chance to recognize the significant contributions postdoctoral scholars make to UTHSC research and discovery. The Postdoctoral Office in the UTHSC College of Graduate Health Sciences invited Vice Chancellor for Research, Dr. Steve Goodman, to be the year’s special speaker for their celebration.
Dr. Goodman delivered a virtual presentation that underscored what an exciting and promising time it is to be a researcher at UTHSC. He spoke on the reformation of the research enterprise on the UTHSC campus and across the UT system, telling the behind-the-scenes story of how research grant and contract awards went from $84 to $122 million in just six years.
